Emily has spent almost every year of her life dancing in some fashion or another. She has danced at Encore for almost 15 years, and was a part of Encore’s Competition/Performance team for almost 10 years. Emily has studied ballet, tap, jazz, clogging, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, hip-hop, and pointe and has traveled with Encore to several competitions, performances, and professional opportunities through her time dancing with them.
Outside of Encore, Emily has danced with groups at Southwestern Michigan College, The Lady Admirals of Benton Harbor MI, The Citadel, Bethel College, as well as choreographed a past musical for Dowagiac High School. Emily has attended several master classes under highly trained professionals and I am extremely excited to share that knowledge!
In the past she has been a member of the Lady Admirals Dance Team for the Lake Michigan Admirals Basketball Team, taught dance classes at the Citadel, volunteered as choreographer for Saint Joseph High School’s Show Choir and was the Coach of the SJHS Poms Squad from 2012-2014. As an artist Susan has won awards in street chalk art competitions, including 1st place at Chalk the Block 2013, People's Choice Award at Chalk the Block 2015 and 1st place at Grand Rapids Chalk Flood.
Susan was an instructor for Dancing with the Symphony Stars Seasons 1 & 2. She also was a member of the Grand Rapids Drive Dance Team for the 2014-2015 season. She now resides in Holland, Michigan and is an instructor at Avalon School of the Arts and is Coach of the West Ottawa High School Competitive Dance Teams.
Carolyn’s professional career has expanded to working in New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles, dancing for The Union Project Dance Company, LA Contemporary Dance Company, Clairobscur Dance Company, Vox Lumiere's Phantom of the Opera, LA Unbound, & Nickerson-Rossi Dance Company. Past projects also include dancing for numerous music videos including Coldplay and Omi, acting in national commercials for Starbucks, Kaplan University, and Jockey Bra, and dancing for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Poet Theatricals, JT Lotus Dance Company, Crazeehorse, and Luca Volupe. Carolyn has had the pleasure to perform in works by Jen Nugent, Mecca Andrews, Antony Tudor, Gerald Arpino, Löie Fuller, Whitney Moncrief, Derrick A. Evans, John Lehrer, Randy Duncan, and Lori Eisenhower, Doug Varone, David Dorfman, David Curwin, Sharon Garber, and Carolyn Pavlik. She has also studied under the instruction of Doug Varone, David Dorfman, Randy Duncan, Jen Nugent, Jerri Houlihan, Miguel Guiterrez, Mandi Moore, and many others while attending The American Dance Festival, and working in New York and Los Angeles. Carolyn has taught for The Gabriella Foundation, and Gabriella Charter
Schools, nationally recognized by Michelle Obama as one of the best after school dance programs serving inner city youth. She is a certified Yoga and Barre Sculpt instructor, and loves to incorporate health and wellness into every aspect of her life. Carolyn currently teaches at Dance Arts in Stevensville. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys wine, exercise, and spending time with her husband, Garrett Rabbers and Pug, Alfawnzo.
Sarah has been teaching for 19 years & has taught all the Midwest, as well as internationally in Portugal, Italy & South Korea. Her choreography has been presented at Dance Chicago 2010-2012, Chicago Freelance Dance, Going Dutch by CORE Project, Dance Chance, RAD Fest, Delve, Studio Dance Theatre & many regional dance competitions. Her credits also include the film Glimpse in 2011 and Holy Spirit in 2012. Sarah is the founder and artistic director of Tapestry Dance Company performing all over the Midwest. Sarah also judges for Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance Competition. Here in Southwest Michigan Sarah teaches full time for Dance Arts, sharing her love of movement and music with students in all dance forms.

Michael Smith-Davenport is a Michigan-based dancer and choreographer currently located in Kalamazoo, MI. He has participated in every SMSO Dancing With the Stars fundraiser since it's inception.
He has taught at studios around the Kalamazoo and Detroit areas in various genre to dancers of all ages. He teaches private dance-based exercise classes to active older adults. He has performed works by Carolyn Pavlik, Kirsten Harvey, Rennie Harris, and Lew Christensen. Artistically, his interests sway between dark cerebral work, and showy cultural pieces. In the fall, he will travel to New York City to further his training and establish a career.
Jake has been dancing since he was 8 and teaching ballroom since 2008. He enjoys teaching social, show dance and competitive ballroom to all ages and levels.
He teaches at Dance Arts in Stevensville as well as That's Dancing in Elkhart, Indiana where he is dance director.
He loves what he does and hopes to influence his students and the people around him with the love and passion for dance.
